Kids Connect
Kids Connect is SSFBC’s Wednesday night ministry for kids ages 3 years through 6th grade. Wednesday nights at Kids Connect, children of all ages will be taught biblical truths in age-appropriate lessons that you as parents can continue to teach on and reinforce at home the rest of the week. Below is a breakdown of what curriculum each age group will be using for the 2025- year.
3 YEAR OLDS
(By September 30, 2025)
Puggles recognizes the learning ability of 3-year olds by introducing biblical truth at church and equipping parents to teach them at home. Puggles seeks to introduce young children to God and His love! In Puggles, children learn four BigTruths—God Made Everything, God is Great, God Loves Us and We Give Thanks—and the Bible verses that go with them.
4 YEAR OLDS
(By September 30, 2025)
Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of 4 year olds by helping them develop respect for God, His Son, and His Word. In Awana Cubbies, kids learn basic truths about God, Jesus, and salvation through fun handbooks, picture teaching cards and more.
K-4th GRADE
TeamKID: Faithful Promises will help your kids learn about God and how He always keeps his promises—no matter what! As we learn about the Old Testament promises we will see that God is always faithful to His people. This curriculum will help your kids learn more about God, the Bible, and Jesus. God is faithful to us, forever and always!
5th-6th GRADE
As preteens move toward their teenage years, the Bible can help refine their faith and prepare them to understand and interact with the world around them. Forged: Faith Refined is a 2-year curriculum designed to sharpen preteens’ worldview according to biblical principles. Lessons will include age-appropriate discussions on truth, identity, and relationships.
Youth
The Youth Ministry of San Saba’s First Baptist Church exists to assist parents in the discipleship and instruction of students; 7th to 12th grade. SSFBC Youth is committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as proclaimed in the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God. Our desire is that SSFBC Youth will be a community of students devoted to one another and unified on the basis of Gospel.
7th through 12th graders meet in the Youth Room on Wednesday nights during the school year. Bible study begins at 6:00 PM and ends about 7:30 PM. The service start with a game or two, followed by singing a few songs and a teaching time. Students are then divided into small groups based on gender and grade for a time of small group discussion and prayer.
This fall the SSFBC Youth will be going through a study of the Bible’s teaching on sex, attraction, identity, and relationships, written specifically for middle school and high school students.
In this study, students will look at nine key Scripture texts that give a gospel-shaped foundation to their understanding of human sexuality. They will see why this topic matters so much, and our prayer is that this will lead them to honor Christ with their bodies and their relationships.
This curriculum is intended to help students think about sexuality and its related topics through a gospel lens. Instead of focusing primarily on behaviors and rules, we want to help them take a step back and see the story that God has been writing from the beginning—the story of the gospel. And in this story, sexuality is not a footnote, not a random rule, but a theme that can be traced from its beginnings in creation to its end in the “marriage supper of the lamb.” Students need to know how and why they were created. They need to know what went wrong with creation and why everything is now broken. And they need to know that Jesus came to bring grace and healing and eternal life as God’s people that are beyond all comparison.
