The first Sunday of every month SSFBC comes together for Family Worship during the 10:30 AM Worship Service. The purpose of Family Worship is for children who are usually in Preschool or Kids Worship to get to be in ‘big church’ and worship alongside parents, grandparents, and the rest of the church body. The awesome children’s ministry volunteers get a morning off to worship with their families as well. Win-win!
SSFBC values families worshipping together- but knows that the thought of having wiggly kiddos in the pew with you can be stressful. Here are a few things to remember:
God gave children the vibrant energy that sometimes causes them to wiggle and make noise. They belong right here with God’s people where you have so faithfully brought them. Stick with it!
Feel free to sit toward the front where it is easier for your little ones to see and hear what’s going on. They tire of seeing the backs of others’ heads.
Sing the songs and participate in the prayers and the sermon. Children learn how to worship by watching you.
If you have to leave the service with your child, please feel free to do so, but please come back. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”
Children are a gift, not a distraction. The sound of children in the church is the sound of Jesus keeping His promises; it is the sound of his church that lives on and never dies.
Each Sunday of Family Worship there will be Worship Bags available for your kiddos to pick-up in the foyer. Inside you will find age-appropriate coloring pages, sermon notebooks, pencils, colors, and other fun things to help your child enjoy and engage in the worship service. At the end of the service, just leave the bags in the pew. We’ll take care of it from there.
Childcare for children 2-years-old and younger is still offered on the mornings of Family Worship.
