Youth Sunday School: Sundays at 9:15
7th through 12th graders meet in the Youth room downstairs on Sunday mornings. A free breakfast is served. Students meet together for a lesson led by JD Barker and are then broken up into small groups by gender and grade to have a small group discussion time and answer questions pertaining to the morning’s lesson. Wednesday Night Youth: Wednesdays at 7:00pm
7th through 12th graders meet in the Youth room. We start by singing a few worship songs and hymns, followed by a teaching time, then a prayer/application time, and a final song before we dismiss. Doors open at 6:40pm and drinks and snacks are provided. Service starts at 7:00pm and ends about 8:15pm. On Wednesday nights our youth are studying the book of Ephesians.
J.D. Barker has served has youth minister since August 2016. He and his wife Michelle have one son, Walt. J.D. is a native of San Saba, graduating from San Saba High School in 2005. J.D. earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 2009. During his time in college, J.D. served in the college ministry of Denton Bible Church in Denton, TX. He also completed the Young Guns discipleship program, taught by Denton Bible’s senior pastor, Tommy Nelson. J.D. serves as a bi-vocational minister; teaching special education at San Saba Elementary school in addition to his role as youth minister. J.D. and Michelle have a passion for youth and a desire to make disciples of Christ who in turn make disciples.
