I Believe in God, Because, One…

The world has a design. Those who argue for random evolution without a guiding hand must have never explored the intricate design of the world on which we live. There are many factors necessary to sustain life, and the Earth was created with all of them. This world is more like a finely tuned watch than simply a ball of mud. Consider.

The Earth is the only planet known with the right mixture of gases to sustain various forms of life. Our atmosphere has a perfect balance of hydrogen and oxygen, which extends about 50 miles above the earth’s surface. Life’s fragile existence depends on this unique atmosphere, which can only be explained by design.

The Earth is located the perfect distance from the sun. If our world were closer to the sun, like Mercury, we would burn up. If we were further away, like Mars, we would freeze. We are in the exact position to provide the needed temperatures to sustain life. Suspended in space, the earth travels at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour around the sun while rotating daily on its axis for proper heating and cooling. This can only be explained by design.

The Earth is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees, known by scientists as its obliquity. The tilt of our world explains the reason we enjoy four seasons. Because of this tilt, the various hemispheres of our world change slightly in their distance from the sun. Thus, sometimes the sun’s rays strike at an angle, allowing for colder temperatures, while others times they strike directly creating higher temperatures. Our Creator designed this world so its inhabitants would enjoy four distinct seasons: spring, summer, winter and fall.

The moon is the right distance from the Earth to create the gravitational pull needed to control ocean tides. This affect on the Earth keeps the oceans from becoming stagnant, while also keeping them from spilling across continents. The gravitational pull of our world keeps us from flying into space while also positively affecting the very growth of our cells. This phenomenon was not discovered until astronauts lived in space for extended periods of time, and were adversely affected by the lack of gravity. God designed this world perfectly to sustain all forms of life.

This world we call Earth spins at the right speed and circles the sun at the right distance. It has the right mixture of gasses and an abundant supply of water. It is tilted at the right angle and with just the right amount of gravity. It is a finely tuned mechanism that could have never happened simply by random chance. The fingerprints of God are on our world as explained in the Bible in Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
